2011 has begun!
This year so far has been positive. I started working out more (actually an hour every day) and I notice that besides the physical changes and being sore every night, I also am in better mood. One thing I didn’t expect is to have another thing to look forward to everyday. I just like the challenge.
I want to mention some thing that went down at the end of the year. Calvin Karass released his first single called Deep Down on Tief Haus Recordings on New Years eve of 2010. You can check it out here and of course if you like to support the artist (or my label for that matter) go out and buy it. Here is the Link.
Speaking of Soundcloud, I just started using it in 2010 and I think it’s a genius platform to share your music with people. It inspired me to upload some of the mash ups that I made and they really took off. Here are my top two mash ups of 2010.
Together these two tracks racked up almost 15000 plays and almost 2000 downloads. It forced me to get the second level of premium membership just so I could keep the downloads on the Justice v. Gartner track going.
I also released Dariio‘s Lifestyle with fresh new remixes on Tief Haus Recordings. I was especially excited about the cover art Dariio and I were able to put together. It is now available everywhere, but I will provide you with the Beatport link Here.
…and yes that’s the real barcode 😉
In a segue to 2011, I signed Para81 plus remixes to Vibrance Records. The EP is going to release on the 21st of January 2011. Check out the original.
Alright and last but definitely not least. My favorite track of January 2011 so far. It’s not even electronic but it has the elements of the 70s hit “Turn the Beat around” by Vicki Sue Robinson mixed with the Mamas & Papas – California Dreamin. This boy can sing and the harmonies are exceptionally good. There might even be a remix lined up for these vocals. Sit back and relax and take in Daniel Merriweather – Could You:
One of my new years resolutions was to at least post into my blog once a month if with nothing else than a favorite track of that month. I think it would make a nice look back once 2012 comes around. And with that I wish everyone a great 2011.
